Joe’s life is divided into 3+1 chapters. Chapter I: 25+ years in business including Estate Planning with New York Life, Revenue Officer with the U.S. Treasury Department, Sales Representative and gas main Extension King with Washington Natural Gas Company, Real Estate Broker, investor, developer, and property manager. Chapter II: 25 years in public service as a Pierce County Deputy Sheriff between the ages of 45 and 70. Chapter III: Began with an April Fool’s Day 2013 retirement and involves The Arts including Writing, Comedy, and the Blues. Currently Joe is a creator on Westside Story, The Benny's & Joey’s Quiz with Publisher Ben Sclair and Double Take with author / columnist Susanne Bacon. Joe has performed as an actor locally and done stand-up comedy in Seattle, Tacoma, New Jersey, and Las Vegas. Chapter +1 (or 4) finds Joe and his family leaving Washington state after 77 year of residency to the Westside of the Atlantic Ocean in a state named Delaware. Because Joe has left many friends in western Washington, he remains interested in the territory of his former Westside Story beat.

When we left our suffering hero, Joe Boyle, in the last segment of the award winning series, Grim Reaper – Part III, (LINK) Joe was deciding between 1) following his doctor’s orders to move his half dead body to St. Joseph Emergency Department or 2) making a break for Starbucks it in a state of panic.

At the end of Grim Reaper – Part II, (Link) the final paragraph left readers clinging to edge of their computers.
For those of you who missed that riveting final paragraph, I quote, “What happens next is nothing short of amazing. Until Grim Reaper – Part III in this popular series, you should be asking yourself, 1) Does Joe pass out? 2) Does the nurse pass out? 3) Does the EKG start smoking and burst into flames?”

Two thoughts motivate me to write this story. One, what I have to share could save a life, yours or someone you love. Two, if my story fails to save any lives, it is my hope my tale will be entertaining.
Publisher Ben Scair and I reviewed the oral version of my story, and we both agreed it would be better if I serialized the story in order to tell my tale in bite size pieces.

For those of you who know Dorothy Wilhelm, if she says NSA is the place to be, you know, NSA is the place to be.

November 4, 2014, Election Day, has come and gone.
I remember middle school elections of the 1950s. Candidates made posters. Candidates made “Vote for me” paper badges for their supporters. Little effort was expended determining which candidates were most qualified. It was a silly juvenile popularity contest based on superficial issues such as who had the best posters.
As I reflect on elections in my adult life, it appears to me that not much has changed. Today’s elections are still much like middle school; silly and juvenile.

I know Downton Abbey sounds like a show for the gals, but Downton Abbey can grab a guy’s interest on multiple levels such as scenery, architecture, costumes, history, characters, story lines, classic cars and historical employment rolls.

Being retired is great, but living on a fixed income can be challenging. To combat the downside, I have established a brand new business called Boyle Innovative Products or B. I. P. My business plan includes designing and selling ingenious products you will not find in your local brick and mortar stores.

I just found a new reason to be happy to be a resident of Washington State. We enforce our seatbelt laws. The same cannot be said for our first state, Delaware.
