Per the link here – the Lakewood Police Department’s Press Release found on the city’s website and dated April 22 but as of this date, May 4, not seen in any media publication – “regarding the officer involved shooting (fatal) that occurred on 04-21-15 in the City of Lakewood,” there are indeed “a lot of questions and requests for additional information.”
Letter: It’s only about ethics if you get caught
April 30 was National Honesty Day. Not that it matters. Unsurprisingly, there is no presidential or congressional declaration honoring even 24 hours of truth-telling.
That being the sad truth, and in the spirit of Lois Lerner’s lost (and more now found) emails, here’s a short fish story – a true story as it turns out – of the one(s) that didn’t get away.

Daniel Covarrubias, “who appeared to be reaching for something in his pocket,” was shot dead by Lakewood police in a lumber yard altercation Tuesday, April 21. “Police haven’t said whether he was armed.”
Covarrubias was the father of seven.
He’s not the first, just the latest.

As with high speed we approach high speed rail’s 8th Annual National Train Day on May 9th – which also, significantly, coincides with “Lost Sock Memorial Day” – the losses of Amtrak just last year alone are worth six minutes of reflection.

As we approach National Honesty Day, April 30, it is ironic – perhaps ‘comic’ would be more apt – that as to “congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day” – this ‘National’ day, this one day (only one?) set aside to tell the truth – “none were found.”
