Custer Elementary School held a Literacy Night program on Thursday the 24th of April. Students use this opportunity to showcase their daily school activities to parents and others interested in their learning environment.
Clover Park Rotary (Lakewood) has adopted Custer School and is involved year-round in a variety of school functions. This night, the Rotary club served spaghetti to students and family members. The spaghetti was provided by CARRS Restaurant. Club members Chris and Elle Carr are active supporters of the Club and the Community.
Thank you to the Clover Park Rotary (Lakewood) and Carr’s restaurant for investing time, resources and energy to support Custer Elementary School. Custer was just voted the 2025 Best Elementary School in the South Sound! …let that sink in.
It would be amazing if more local organizations and/or nonprofits in our community followed your lead. You actually “show-up” and engage with staff, students and families. Each and every school would benefit from having this type of positive, consistent and focused community involvement.
I would like to see a published list of every organization and/or business that is currently supporting a specific school. They all deserve recognition.
I am so delighted that the Community of Lakewood is continuing to support the schools of
Lakewood. Having been involved in Lakewood for many years it is such a joy to know
that “these good works” are continuing for our families and friends. Stay Well
