I observed a group of people forming up at the Lakewood Towne Center across from Five Guys Burgers and Fries. They were putting on look-a-like green protester shirts, dragging out protester banners, waiving protester stake signs while warming up their protester voices in preparation for yelling at the innocent public passing by their location. Westside Story – Stop Rezoning of Gravelly Lake Drive
As I understand it, our Washington State Growth Management Act is putting pressure on city officials to come up with ideas and changes in order for our city to become compliant with Growth Management requirements. That is understandable. Our planning commission has come up with an idea that might well help in that regard related to the rezoning of a large tract of land on Gravelly Lake Drive SW. I get that. Our city council is set to vote on the proposal in December 2015.
Westside Story – Ghost Writer
have never been much of a believer in ghosts, haunted buildings or the paranormal. I have to tell you, this past Halloween season may have made a convert out of me.
Take a close look at my two photos. Do you see what I see?
Westside Story – Tillicum Goes to Pot
Now I see the pro-pot people are invading Tillicum. Why would pro-pot people spend time at a Tillicum community meeting? There is only one reason I can think of. Pro-pot people want to bring pot to Tillicum.
Westside Story – City of Lakewood Honors Joe Boyle
I need to be honest. For years I have thought the City of Lakewood would honor me, during my lifetime, for my crowning achievements and pioneering spirit which were instrumental in helping establish the City of Lakewood. I am much like the City of Puyallup’s Ezra Meeker. I figure in 100 years, school kids will be read about me in their history books.
Westside Story – Tooth Fairy
The first photo in my story is a familiar image of a small kid after proudly losing a baby tooth. When you are near a child who has lost a tooth, it is easy to sense the excitement of it all. The tooth begins to loosen on its own. The small child starts incessantly wiggling the tooth with his fingers until it becomes looser and looser.
Letter: Did you go as a giant for Halloween?
USA Today says Harley Quinn – the supervillain and frequent accomplice and lover of the Joker – was costume choice number one.
Westside Story – Trick or Treat
Hey everybody, I have included two fun photos of scenes I found in our community. I share them with you as a reminder that Saturday, October 31, 2015, is Halloween. Kids will be roaming all over our community looking for Halloween treats. I know you know that. You also know to be extra careful when driving so as to not run over a trick or treater. Hitting a child with a car will ruin our days for a long time to come, regardless of who’s fault the collision might be.
Westside Story – Starbucks Name Change
I loved Starbucks for over 25 years, traveling to what was known as the 3rd Place twice a day anywhere I might be located all over the world. Howard Schultz successfully imported an idea from Europe and perfected his dream he called the 3rd Place.
