Meet one of our new K9’s in training, Odin, a 14-month-old male German Shepherd. Odin and his handler, Officer Johnson, are halfway through the 400 hours of training they will finish before taking the state test to become a certified generalist K9 team. Go Odin!

I love our K-9 teams. I believe Lakewood has a few too. If not, there should be.
I grew up with a German Shepard Police dog in Germany. My father was stationed in Nuremburg and was asked if he would like one to take home, who was trained and that they had too many at the time. His name was Bodo (pronounced Bo Dough) and myself going to school in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades there, he was definitely my protector. Brought him back to the states here in Tacoma at our home on Tyler street where we had about a acre to play in. Lot’s of good times back in the day.
That dog was my first and I loved him so much.
