Lakewood United announcement.
Diane Formosa: An inspiring community member, force of nature and founder of Caring For Kids will speak to Lakewood United on Thursday, July 7 (7:30 am) at Bur’s Restaurant (and virtually).
Background:
Caring For Kids is a nonprofit organization that began over 45 years ago with a little girl without a coat who boarded Diane Formoso’s school bus on a cold morning. Diane turned that encounter into a lifeline for needy students in Clover Park, Steilacoom and University Place schools. Along with dedicated volunteers and kind donors, Caring For Kids has provided tens of thousands of children with clothing, school supplies, shoes, food, Christmas presents and more!
Mission Statement:
“To help raise healthy, happy, productive kids who are ready to learn!”
Sample Topics:
- Our Lakewood Reality: What are the current numbers and the needs of our children?
- How does Caring For Kids operate, raise funds and accept donations?
- Who are the people behind this effort and what type of help is needed?
This meeting will be available on Zoom. If you wish to join by Zoom, please email Lakewood United at LakewoodUnited@gmail.com to receive your pass code.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at LakewoodUnited@gmail.com
Bur’s Restaurant is located at 6151 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
Gail says
Diane is an amazing person. She has more energy than anyone I’ve ever met. More importantly, Diane has empathy. She has made Caring for Kids her life’s goal to help each and every child in these three districts be better prepared for learning. We need more people like Diane. We also need to support her worthy cause.
Thank you, Diane😇
