Office of Rep. Marilyn Strickland announcement.
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) voted to pass the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act after leading a bipartisan letter calling on Congressional leadership to expeditiously consider the bill. The MORE Act ends the federal prohibition on marijuana and seeks justice for those whose lives have been ruined by marijuana-related charges.
“To protect workers, promote racial justice and spur economic growth, Congress must pass the MORE Act,” Strickland said. “Recent robberies across the South Sound prove that the MORE Act isn’t just about legalizing marijuana, it is about protecting retailers and their workers. I am proud to have helped move this bipartisan legislation through the House and urge the Senate to swiftly pass this bill, sending it to President Biden’s desk for his signature.”
Cannabis’ current listing under Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act has negatively impacted local and Tribal businesses, families, communities of color, and countless residents across the South Sound and the nation. The MORE Act will remove marijuana from the list of scheduled substances under the Controlled Substances Act and eliminate criminal penalties for an individual who manufactures, distributes, or possesses marijuana. It also makes Small Business Administration loans and services available to cannabis-related businesses or service providers. De-scheduling cannabis would not only allow businesses to securely bank—it would also help grow and strengthen our economy as a whole.
In 2012, voters in Washington state legalized possession of small amounts of marijuana. As of today, medical cannabis use is legal in 36 states, the District of Columbia, and four U.S. territories. Recreational use of cannabis is legalized in 18 states, the District of Columbia, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam. Thirteen states and the U.S. Virgin Islands have decriminalized cannabis use.

It seems to be a top priority of the left to get/keep this nation stoned.
After taking big tobacco to court for encouraging people to smoke, they are doing the same thing, without a filter.
Every homeless person I’ve dealt with smokes pot. If you don’t believe me, hang out under a bridge in Tacoma.
The left also advocates for micro-dosing LSD, and legalizing other hard drugs.
The left is allowing enough fentanyl to flow in, from China through the open southern border, to kill this entire nation’s population. That is by design.
The left has spun up an enormous tax-fueled industry to deal with the fallout of drug use – homelessness, crime, welfare, bankruptcy, mental health, to name a few. Today it’s just called government.
The left thinks drug use is important but our Constitutionally guaranteed individual rights are fair game to be picked off as they interfere with the leftist agenda.
The law enforcement and intelligence apparatus has turned a blind eye to this scourge. If they were doing their job, perhaps they could find Hunter Biden’s laptop, loaded with seriously illegal if not treasonous evidence.
If we don’t put a hard stop to this leftist momentum – it’s obvious unless you are perpetually numb – this nation will euthanize itself.

I 100% agree with Mr Borgelt’s comments. Things don’t get this bad this fast unless it’s intentional. And let there be know doubt, it’s intentional.

I never considered the fact that tobacco was the ultimate sin for so long, and yet now smoking pot is somehow just fine. Thanks for bringing that hypocrisy to the forefront, Brian!

Of course she did. I’ll bet her Doctor would vote against it…as mine sure would!! I bet she didn’t talk to any Doctors on the effect of pot and the human brain. I’ve seen the pro and con on this issue and the con won hands down, medically speaking. (On my Dr’s advice).
She has not one clue what she does or votes for, its her liberal socialist views is all that matters to her and her cronies.

This is a ridiculous idea. There are more important things than Pot!
How about helping a Vietnam veteran get help from the VA. We have been getting the runaround for over 2 years. I call my Congress reps and it falls on deaf ears. How about helping the voters and not druggies
