UNIVERSITY PLACE – Accolades and achievements continue to mount up for a University Place business owned and operated by Soundcare, Inc. with corporate headquarters in UP. Bridgeport Place Retirement and Assisted Living recently underwent its annual State inspection for license renewal. After three days of a comprehensive, leave-no-stone-unturned assessment of every aspect of operations from the business office to medical records to maintenance to housekeeping to dietary services, Bridgeport Place received a 100 Percent Deficiency-Free rating by the State of Washington.
Ever humble, award-winning Executive Director Sandra E. Nelson is quick to say, “The credit goes to my team. I couldn’t have done it without them.” Her leadership was acknowledged statewide in 2012 when she was named Administrator of the Year for the State of Washington by the Washington State Association of Activity Professionals.
Nelson has played a key role in the successful community outreach by Bridgeport Place, which serves and supports the University Place Senior Activity Center, Lakewood Senior Center, three different Chambers of Commerce, and much more. She and her team work tirelessly to meet the needs of the residents of Bridgeport Place and the broader local community of seniors as well including such popular events as the Saturday Senior Soup-tacular on the 3rd Saturday every month at Bridgeport Place.
