The Steilacoom Historical Museum Association is sorry to say that once again, the usual large event, the Steilacoom Apple Squeeze, has been canceled for 2021. However, once again for those who will miss the flavors of the Squeeze, there will be Tasting the Squeeze Times Two!.
Tasting the Squeeze is an alternative to the usual Apple Squeeze. This decision to not have the larger Apple Squeeze was not made lightly, but low vaccine rates in Pierce County, the size of the regular event, the number of, at this point, unvaccinated children who participate or attend and the rise of the delta variant all contributed to the decision to wait another year.
The public will be able again this year to pre-order jugs of delicious award winning cider, caramel apples with or without nuts, and apple fritters. In addition, the 2022 Steilacoom Calendar may also be pre-ordered. Pick up of these items will be at tents on Lafayette Street adjacent to Town Hall on Sunday, October 3 from 10-4.

Payment will be taken at that time by credit card. All items can also be ordered at the Steilacoom Museum, 1801 Rainier Street in Steilacoom, on Saturdays and Sundays until October 2.
There will be some availability on food items for walk-up customers but numbers will be limited. Pick up for the food items will only be available on that day. Calendars will continue to be sold through the rest of the year at the Steilacoom Museum, online through the website and at various businesses in Steilacoom.
All proceeds will benefit the Steilacoom Historical Museum Association. If you are not already, please consider getting vaccinated in order to restore normalcy and safety to large events like the Squeeze. Call the Museum at 253-584-4133 with questions.
