Enjoy Japanese-style beef curry, shop for fresh produce, and browse through gently used Japanese treasures at the annual Tacoma Buddhist Temple Fall Bazaar on Sunday, Nov. 10.
The popular community event is known for these specialties prepared at the temple: Japanese-style beef curry, daifuku mochi (sweet rice pastry filled with sweetened red bean paste), and udon noodles and vegetables, based on a recipe by the late temple member Kiku Morita.
These items must be pre-ordered online at www.tacomabt.org/category/all-products by 10 p.m. Oct. 31. They can be picked up “to-go” or eaten in the temple social hall on the day of the bazaar.
While you’re at the bazaar, stop by the bake sale, where homemade sweets, temple-made pies and additional daifuku mochi will be available — no pre-sales required here. Shop for fresh vegetables and browse through the small rummage sale of kimonos and accessories, along with a selection of dishes, tea cups and other treasures.
For purchases, credit cards and checks only, please.
