Joint Base Lewis-McChord is conducting a prescribed burn on 21 Aug. at 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Training Area 21; 0.5-mile north of the intersection of Rainer road and Military road. Prescribed burns are controlled and monitored by firefighters. There are many reasons JBLM has prescribed burns, mostly to remove potential fuel sources and improve training lands.
