To celebrate the first day of Ride Transit Month, Pierce Transit will offer fare free rides on Saturday, June 1, 2024. June is recognized annually as Ride Transit Month. Nationwide, transit agencies, advocates and partner organizations promote transit use during the month and coordinate activities and events that encourage the public to ride transit. The free rides are valid on all regularly scheduled Pierce Transit bus service, SHUTTLE and Runner on-demand services.
“It is a pleasure for Pierce Transit to welcome community members on board for free June 1 to help us celebrate Ride Transit Month,” said Pierce Transit CEO Mike Griffus. “I hope everyone will take up the Ride Transit Month challenge and get on board with Pierce Transit this month. When you do, you’ll discover an affordable way to get where you’re going, a proven way to help the environment, and a safe, relaxing way to reach your destination.”
The Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners will issue a Resolution in support of Ride Transit Month at its June 10 meeting, which starts at 4 p.m. In addition, several other communities throughout Pierce County will issue proclamations in support of Ride Transit Month, including:
