The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County is close to securing a $25,000 gift to sustain critical care and services to animals, needing only 15 new monthly donors to reach its goal of 100 enrollments and unlock the donation.
Recurring monthly donations starting from $5 per month grants donors access to the shelter’s Loyal Friends Club. Loyal Friends Club members receive exclusive quarterly email updates about shelter pets, a 10% discount on online shelter merch, and an emergency “Animals Inside” window sticker.
Loyal Friends Club members enable the shelter to sustain and expand its lifesaving work for the most vulnerable pets, like Stryker.
Stryker, a 5-year-old pit bull terrier mix, was brought to the shelter severely malnourished and suffering from a gaping neck wound.
The shelter’s veterinary team determined the wound was likely inflicted by burns of an ill-used shock collar. The shelter’s veterinary team treated Stryker’s wound with specialty ointment and fluorescent light therapy. The advanced treatment accelerated Stryker’s healing, allowing him to be adopted into a loving home just days later.
“Thanks to the consistent support of our monthly donors, we’re able to provide vital medical care to thousands of animals each year, including surgeries, vaccines, and plenty of TLC from our dedicated staff,” says Leslie Dalzell, chief executive officer at the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County. “When you join the Loyal Friends Club, your ongoing commitment supplies the resources needed to ensure pets in our shelter and in the community receive the care they need.”
To become a monthly donor, community members can enroll on the shelter’s website at www.thehumanesociety.org/loyal-friends-club.
