Fans of comics, graphic novels and manga—from children to adults—can now enjoy free 24/7 digital access with their Pierce County Library System card.
The Library System recently added Comics Plus to its online resources lineup, offering thousands of digital comics, graphic novels and manga accessible by smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access. Children and adults may download comics and other reading materials to multiple devices and start reading and enjoying them immediately, because there is no limit to the number of titles, which means people won’t have to wait in a holds queue to access online comics, graphic novels or manga.
“Comics have evolved significantly and aren’t what many people may think of as the old funny pages,” said Pierce County Library Executive Director Gretchen Caserotti. “They are a true literary form that has greatly advanced in recent years. Comics, graphic novels, and manga contain story lines and artistic imagery that broaden imaginations, enhance language and spark creativity, while providing insight into other cultures, viewpoints and experiences.”
Comics and manga have reached fan fanatic status in recent years, with the expansion of manga and many comics transformed into series. Comics are very popular for people of all ages.
