As we prepare to enter the holiday season, I hope you and your family will consider a new tradition of honoring the sacrifices of America’s Veterans. American Legion Pat Tillman Memorial Post 53 DuPont, WA needs your help with our annual Wreaths Across America campaign. Nationally, Wreaths Across America has set a goal of placing a Christmas wreath on the grave of every Veteran in America. You can help! As a Post we are trying to provide 125 of the 1,100 wreaths needed to place on graves at Camp Lewis (Joint Base Lewis McChord – Ft Lewis) cemetery and an additional 125 wreaths for Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Cemetery in Lacey.
Wreaths are only $17 each and your purchase will allow us to do our share to place a wreath on every grave. Just click on the link below in order to participate. You can order as many wreaths as you wish, and we will happily see to it that each Veterans final resting place is honored. For each wreath you sponsor, volunteers will place a wreath on a headstone and say that veteran’s name out loud continuing their story for the next generation.
There’s no arm twisting – although Santa may be watching, and we all know his time is coming soon. This is a beautiful time of year to honor our Fallen Heroes and it is an excellent way for YOU to personally show your care. It isn’t expensive or time-consuming. It isn’t hard to do.
As a bonus, $5 of each $17 wreath donation is returned to American Legion DuPont Post 53 Auxiliary to support the National Emergency Relief Fund, Auxiliary Emergency Fund, Boys & Girls State, and Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation. Nowhere else can your donation benefit so many people while honoring our nation’s heroes.
