The Clover Park School District (CPSD) Board of Directors is considering the sale of approximately 3,046 square feet of the real property containing Custer Elementary School to the City of Lakewood (City) for right-of-way purposes. The property in question is located at 8102 Phillips Road Southwest (Pierce County Tax Parcel No. 0220346014).
The City proposes to purchase a strip of land approximately 11 feet wide along Steilacoom Boulevard Southwest for purposes of constructing an ADA-compliant sidewalk, bicycle lanes, and vehicular facilities. The City seeks to acquire the property under threat of condemnation and has offered a purchase price of $91,400.
The Board of Directors will hold a public hearing under RCW 39.33.020 regarding this proposed sale on Monday, Nov. 13, at 5 p.m. in room 4 of the district’s Student Services Center located at 10903 Gravelly Lake Drive SW in Lakewood. At the hearing, members of the public may express their opinions on the matter. Following the hearing, the Board of Directors will determine whether to approve the sale on terms negotiated with the City.
