One of the invaluable services the Rotary Club of Lakewood provides for students attending Clover Park and Steilacoom Historical school districts is educational incentive awards for students, recognizing their academic and community achievements.
Each year, the Rotary Club receives applications from exceptional students for the Mike McGowan Educational Incentive Awards. A selection committee then evaluates student applications based on academic performance, community/civic involvement, financial need and other criteria.
For the 2022-23 school year, 11 students were honored at a luncheon on May 19 and received a $1,000 award to be used for their pursuit of a post-graduate education.
