On Sept. 10, our 14-day case rate per 100,000 for Aug. 19-Sept. 1 is 676.7. The 14-day case rate offers the most reliable look at COVID-19 disease burden on Pierce County.
Our hospitalization rate is currently 17.5 per 100,000.
Today, we confirmed 414 COVID-19 cases and 3 new deaths:
- A woman in her 60s from Puyallup.
- A man in his 50s from Tacoma.
- A man in his 70s from Tacoma.
Our totals are 74,760 cases (PCR = 66,636, antigen = 8,124) and 721 deaths.
We’re improving our data report to clarify how COVID-19 is spreading in Pierce County. On Tuesday, we began providing both positive antigen and positive PCR tests on our main dashboard. Our death count will include deaths among both confirmed and probable cases. In all cases, the medical examiner listed COVID-19 as a cause of death on the death certificate.
