A press release from Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.
TACOMA, Wash.—Happy Howl-o-ween! Dress up like a cat (meow-lo-ween!), monkey, elephant or whatever your favorite animal is and then see that same real-life animal at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium during Zoo Boo weekend, Oct. 16-17.
The annual fun, fall-themed weekend is always a hoot among parents, kids and Zoo staff. Even the animals get a little extra something: special pumpkin enrichments! Watch animals like the wolves and meerkats munch on them. Enrichments stimulate animals’ natural behaviors, increasing mental and physical health or adding interest to their diets.
There will plenty of ghostly games to play, like identifying animal skulls and animal sounds, guessing pumpkin weights, and weird and wacky trivia. There will also be candy and treats for the kids (and don’t worry- the Kids’ Zone playground will be open to get out all that energy!). Look around the Zoo for decorations and vote for your favorite themed-area. Costumes are encouraged for everyone (no face masks for adults, please). Don’t miss the costume parade at the Wild Wonders Outdoor Theater at noon!
When: Oct. 16 and Oct. 17 from 9:30am-4pm
Price: Free with admission to the Zoo.
