In the previous article, we read how the Clover Park School District is proposing to inject race and racism into its curriculum, supposedly to improve student academic performance. But why? We know the district’s academic standing has gone down, but is race the solution?
Some background:
Critical Race Theory (CRT) grew out of socialist Karl Marx’s theory that the way to overthrow capitalism and create a socialist society is to ignite a mass violent revolution through class conflict. Create a revolutionary war between downtrodden workers and the rich capitalists that would result in a victory for the workers, and it could usher in a new communist system of government.
It has worked. In the Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, Cuba and other countries. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and Castro killed nearly 100 million people while creating their socialist/communist dictatorships.
Marxists eyed America too but realized that dividing people by race rather than by class would be more effective because America had a thriving middle class who wouldn’t engage in revolution. So, they’ve been trying to divide Americans by race since the ‘60s, according to historian/author Christopher Rufo.
They’ve been somewhat successful too, so far. You know the names of race hustlers Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton. Remember the race riots in Portland, Minneapolis, and other cities around the country? BLM and Antifa are Marxist organizations. Now racial diversity training programs are commonplace in corporations, governments, and certainly in schools.
What better, easier way to implant a permanent racial divide in our society than to inject it into the innocent, fertile minds of young children who will carry those poisonous thoughts into adulthood.
Marxist academics have been developing theories and programs since the 90s to add fuel to the fire in American schools, Rufo writes. It’s called Critical Race Theory.
He said, “Its supporters deploy a series of euphemisms to describe critical race theory, including “equity” “social justice,” “diversity and inclusion,” and “culturally responsive teaching.” Critical race theorists, masters of language construction, realize that “neo-Marxism” would be a hard sell. Equity, on the other hand, sounds non-threatening and is easily confused with the American principle of equality.”
Rufo has a database of more than 1,000 stories where school children around the country have been force-fed communist ideology, such as the Philadelphia elementary school that forced 5th graders to celebrate “Black communism” and simulate a Black Power rally.
So CRT, disguised as an Equity Policy, must be stopped in the Clover Park School District because it is just another tool in the arsenal of Marxists who want Americans to reject democracy and capitalism in favor of becoming a socialist/communist country.
Concerned citizens of Lakewood need to stand up and strongly protest the district’s equity proposal. Attend the school board meeting at 6 p.m. on Sept. 13 and speak up.
Community groups across the nation have done so and stopped similar measures before. We can too. Then come November’s general election, change the makeup of the school board by voting for David Anderson and Jeff Brown.

Pad, sorry this excludes you.
For those wondering, do a simple google search and Pad’s past will come up. Disgusting.

I would like to hear this discussion. Can you tell me where the school board meets?

the student services center on Gravelly Lake Dr. next to Clover Park HS

I totally agree with this letter. We’ll said. The last thing we need right now is for schools to teach a divisive curriculum.

Well said Mr. Finnigan!

I disagree with your theory that marxists have been trying to divide us by race since the 1960s. Some in our country, since the beginning have divided Americans according to race, religion, and national origin. Many of the readers here have felt the sting of this division. I do not believe that we should continue to omit the ugly parts of our history in order to create some sort of forced nationalism. It is my contention that we can learn from our past mistakes.

which means.. if. you do not like the way our society is headed. Stand up and do something..Why is it we always wait, for the other guy to take care of it??

Teaching history as it really was isn’t the issue. It’s about attributing that history in racial terms to people alive today as oppressors or oppressed who weren’t alive then. There are no slave holders nor slaves alive today. To tie yourself to that past means giving up on your future.

After a cursory review of Mr Finnigan’s article, I suspected the information presented there was skewed. The red flag was definitely raised by the referral to Mark Levin “for further information”. (Mr Levin apparently makes a living from issuing incendiary comments).

Mark Levin deals in facts, Anthony. If you had read the book I recommended to you and others, you’d know that he has 400-some footnotes in the back of his book that identify the sources and authenticity of the facts he lays out. That’s how true scholars work. He didn’t become a 6-time #1 best selling author by writing incendiary comments. He would never allow a cursory review of information that you employed meet his high standards.

ALL TEACHERS WANT IS THE CHANCE TO TEACH TRUTHFUL HONEST HISTORY. I’M 72 AND UNTIL I WENT TO COLLEGE I DIDN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE RELOCATION OF JAPANESE/ AMERICANS DURING WW2 AND OTHER “THINGS”. OUR CHILDREN DESERVE TO LEARN THE TRUTH.SUBJECT MATTER WOULD BE AGE APPROPRIATE. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THIRD GRADERS CAN’T HANDLE LEARNING THAT COLUMBUS DIDN’T DISCOVER AMERICA. LATER CLASSES IN JR/ SR HIGH CAN LEARN EXACTLY WHO HE WAS AND HIS ACTIONS…I THINK KNOWLEDGE IS A GOOD THING. AND THE MORE PEOPLE ACTUALLY KNOW,ALL THE BETTER FOR THE REST OF US.

Mr. Finnigan,
What would be a better and easier way to implant a permanent racial divide in our society than to withhold the historical truths and facts from innocent fertile minds who might be smart enough to ask “why” questions in school and on into adulthood? That appears you be your intended goal.
Why was there no account of the 1921 Greenwood Massacre in my high school or college history books and class discussions? Thirty-five blocks of Black-owned businesses and homes in Tulsa, Oklahoma were reduced to ashes in 2 days and an estimated 100 to 300 innocent lives were lost. Who tried to cover up this historical event to prevent the “innocent fertile minds” of students from asking questions about this horrific slaughter of Americans?
Am I now a Marxist for wanting to know more about this tragic event and why this was intentionally kept from students?
In Pacific Northwest History, why did we not read about the intentional zoning laws/codes in Portland that created and enforced segregation and inequalities? These racial restrictive covenants have had lasting negative impact on people of color in that city. I grew up thinking that segregation was a problem in the South and I had no idea of how deeply this zoning practice of racial covenants was common practice across this country. Who would try to hide that historical information from “innocent fertile minds” of students who might ask questions?
Am I now a dangerous person with “poisonous” ideas who is trying to impose communist ideas into the education of our youth? I want my child to learn the truth and facts about our history and to ask questions!
Imagine my surprise a few years ago when I found out that as Americans settled the West, 1 out of 4 cowboys in America was black. Cowboys were the guys who tamed the West and were my heroes growing up, but what I saw on TV and at the movies was nothing close to depicting our cowboys as people of color. Who kept that myth going? Why was that not in our US History books? Is it included today?
Am I now a good example of your “wokeism” because I dare ask these type of questions?
The false claims you make about CRT, diversity, inclusion and equity and how “evil” school boards have become can be heard on a regular basis on Fox News. It’s all about creating and spreading fear and disinformation; just as they did with vaccine information. CRT has become the latest campaign fundraising outrage issue for Republicans; it’s their new buzzword along with the usual, “Socialism”, “Marxist”, “Cancel Culture”, “Wokeism”, “Communist”, “Antifa”, and “BLM”. If they can slip in those trigger words and create White fear, then they have achieved their ratings goals. Fox News mentioned CRT 132 times in 2020. In 2021, Fox News mentioned CRT 1,860 times in the months of February to June. Perhaps they were trying to take the minds of their viewers away from who actually was responsible for the January 6th attack on our Democracy and decided focusing an attack local school boards was a fresh way to keep viewership and the money rolling in? Be careful of what and who you call “evil”, Mr. Finnigan.
You are only fooling those who believe everything they read and hear without ever checking the actual facts. I was that same kind of clueless person who as a student was naïve enough to believe my History books were accurate and told the whole truth. I feel cheated and want better for my child; you are more concerned about your obvious radical political agenda.
Gail says
Mr. Finnegan, you obviously are a conspiracy monger. It’s people like you who want to scare everyone else because you can’t come to terms with reality. CRT is NOT, I repeat, NOT taught in our schools. It is taught in law school. This is another attempt by the alt right to misdirect the public from more important issues.
