On Aug. 30, our 14-day case rate per 100,000 for Aug. 6-Aug. 19 is 612.2. The 14-day case rate offers the most reliable look at COVID-19 disease burden on Pierce County.
Our hospitalization rate is currently 14.8 per 100,000.
Today, we confirmed 265 COVID-19 cases and 2 new deaths:
- A man in his 40s from Bonney Lake.
- A man in his 80s from Puyallup.
Our totals are 62,293 cases and 657 deaths.
On Aug. 28 we confirmed 335 cases. On Aug. 29 we confirmed 318 cases.
Our reported case rate and hospitalization rate are at their highest since the pandemic began. Please get vaccinated if you haven’t, mask up, and take every step you can to protect your family and community.
