On Aug. 27, our 14-day case rate per 100,000 for Aug. 5-Aug. 18 is 606.0. The 14-day case rate offers the most reliable look at COVID-19 disease burden on Pierce County.
Our hospitalization rate is currently 13.5 per 100,000.
Today, we confirmed 458 COVID-19 cases and 2 new deaths:
- A woman in her 60s from South Hill.
- A woman in her 70s from Edgewood/Fife/Milton.
Our totals are 61,375 cases and 655 deaths.
Today, we reclassified one death from a confirmed COVID-19 death to probable, because they did not have a PCR test in the United States.
