On Aug. 24, our 14-day case rate per 100,000 for Aug. 2-Aug. 15 is 556.0. The 14-day case rate offers the most reliable look at COVID-19 disease burden on Pierce County.
Our hospitalization rate is currently 12.8 per 100,000.
Today, we confirmed 319 COVID-19 cases and 3 new deaths:
- A woman in her 30s from Parkland.
- A woman in her 60s from Key Peninsula.
- A man in his 40s from Tacoma.
Our totals are 60,334 cases and 649 deaths.
Our case rate is now the highest it’s been during the pandemic and we passed 60,000 total cases. We’re also seeing high rates of serious illness. Our hospitalization rate is close to its peak, and three deaths is three too many. Please get vaccinated if you haven’t, mask up, and take every step you can to protect your family and community.
