Crews will install curb and gutter on the east side of Martin Luther King Jr. Way from S. 13th St. to S. 10th St., starting Monday, Aug. 23. At the same time, crews will continue installing curb and gutter on the west side of MLK Jr. Way from S. 19th St. to S. 16th St., as well as overhead wires from S. 19th St. to S. 15th St. In addition, more crews will install signals at the intersections of MLK Jr. Way and Earnest Brazill St. and S. 9th St. MLK Jr. Way will be closed to northbound traffic from S. 19th St. to S. 16th St. Please follow the detour on S. J St. – thank you. In most of these areas, parking will not be available on MLK Jr. Way. We apologize for the inconveniences.
As part of the track installation on Stadium Way and Division Ave., crews are completing the roadwork and plan to open this intersection on Friday, Aug. 27. Crews are repairing sidewalks on the west side of Stadium Way from Division Ave. to S. 4th St., and will install the canopy for the 4th Street station this week.
On Commerce Street, crews are installing track, curb, gutter, paving and the platform for the Old City Hall Station. On E. 25th Street, crews are installing track, curb, gutter, and paving. Crews also are cleaning rail on Division Avenue.
Looking ahead, the contractor will start signals work at the Division Avenue and MLK Jr. Way intersection on Aug. 27 and will install the canopy for the Stadium District Station during the week of Aug. 30. Crews may start installing overhead wires on the next section of MLK Jr. Way from S. 16th St. to S. 8th St. on Aug. 31.
