A press release from City of Tacoma.
TACOMA, Wash. – As part of the City of Tacoma’s ongoing response to COVID-19, Emergency Rule No. 4 makes City Council and Public Utility Board study sessions and business meetings, as well as any other City of Tacoma public meetings, 100% virtual. As part of the rule, the Government Performance and Finance Committee has been tasked with developing and proposing guidelines potentially allowing certain study sessions to be held in a hybrid virtual and in-person format.
This emergency rule is effective immediately, and is subject to confirmation by the City Council at their next regular meeting. Upon confirmation, it shall remain in effect until the Proclamation of Emergency has been terminated, or the rule has been amended based on guidelines to be developed by the Government Performance and Finance Committee.
The Government Performance and Finance Committee guidelines must be consistent with the latest COVID-19 guidelines and staff safety protocols, and are expected to be presented to the City Council by the end of September 2021.
Virtual log-in information for City public meetings will continue to be posted at cityoftacoma.legistar.com. City Council and Public Utility Board study sessions and business meetings will continue to play on TV Tacoma and also stream live on Facebook.
