Jason Whalen is a civic leader who has sought the positive in everything he has accomplished as a member of the Lakewood City Council.
My observation is premised on what I have seen and heard him do and say, respectively, over the seven years I served with him. His sole focus is on making Lakewood a better city to work, play and grow in.
In a recent email to friends and neighbors, he talked about how the council and city staff have worked to make Lakewood the first community in Pierce County to equip all of its police officers with vehicle and body cameras.
Aware of the growing need for more affordable housing, Jason also wrote that Lakewood is the first municipality to join the South Sound Housing Affordability Partners, an intergovernmental initiative dedicated to working on regional solution.
These are but two of the many initiatives and/or programs that he has worked on with his colleagues on the city council, city staff, and a wide range of local, state and federal officials in order to continue to make Lakewood a welcoming place where all individuals can build better lives and futures here.
I encourage you to cast your ballot on August 3rd for Jason Whalen, a proven and experienced civic leader.

Mr. John Simpson,
Your recommendation supporting Jason Whaten for Lakewood City Council is on target. I know all that you say to be accurate.

I will support any candidate that in turn will support the districting of Council positions. This will be the only way that ALL of Lakewood will be fairly represented.
