The February unemployment rate for Pierce County was 7.1%, roughly unchanged since October (7.3%). The rate represents a 25% year-over increase in the number of job seekers (+6,120). While the regional workforce has made a strong return, gains have stagnated in recent months, with over 34,000 fewer people employed today than a year ago.
