On Dec. 9, we confirmed 711 new COVID-19 cases and 1 new death:
- A man in his 60s from Spanaway. He had underlying health conditions.
We have reported 3,546 cases in the last 14 days. Our 14-day case rate per 100,000 is 393.1. Our average cases per day over the last 14 days is 253.3.
Our totals are 18,915 cases and 254 deaths.
More people are seeking testing at Pierce County’s mobile sites throughout the county and other testing locations. The sharp increase in recent testing volume can create delays in processing and reporting.
Washington State Department of Health has resumed reporting negative test results, and we updated the positivity rate today.
With the 6-day data lag, our case rate is at 390.1 per 100,000. The data lag helps to ensure accuracy of our metrics.
