November 10, 2020 By Sound Transit

Sound Transit will hold a virtual public hearing on Thursday, November 12, starting at 11 a.m. to receive public comment on Sound Transit’s proposed 2021 Budget and a proposed action on the 2021 property tax levy of a statutory increase up to 1%.

Each year, Sound Transit’s Finance Department prepares a budget for the coming year. The proposed 2021 budget documents are available for review on our website at www.soundtransit.org/About-Sound-Transit/Accountability/Financial-documents.

Information on the proposed action regarding the 2021 property tax levy increase can be found at www.soundtransit.org/sites/default/files/documents/2021-budget-property-tax-hearing.pdf

Information about how to sign up for comment and how to join the meeting is available at www.soundtransit.org/get-to-know-us/news-events/calendar/public-hearing-2021-property-tax-levy-proposed-2021-budget-2020.

First the election is stolen then Sound Transit wants their fingers in our pockets again. And our $30 car tabs still are being denied. Washington State one of the most corrupt of all!

Family’s are out of work, no income for many month’s, food is becoming hard to come by, School’s are closed, What are you people thinking?? We are in a Pandemic for crying out loud, and you Want to Raise our property Tax’s? Don’t you guy’s read or watch the new’s, people are passing away, thousands per day, and rising. This isn’t a time to be pressing any town about your Sound Transit needs, we don’t care, we need free health help, free food, and free transportation until this pandemic is stalled, wake up, this is a insult to what’s going on!!!

This increase: “a proposed action on the 2021 property tax levy of a statutory increase up to 1%” would be 4 times higher than what we were assessed this year. Among the many ironies of Sound Transit is that the system will really only benefit Seattle and King County. But Pierce County property owners got swept into the system. Another irony is that Steve O’Ban tried to hold them accountable, as well as challenging the car tab issue. And what did the district do, but vote him out of office. What will Twina do?
