In a letter dated March 18, directed to Gov. Jay Inslee, the individual members of the CPSD Board signed their names in objection to ESSB 5395 asking Gov. Inslee in turn not to sign this bill.
Calling the Comprehensive Sex Education bill a maze of “unfunded and volatile curriculum” the school Board of Directors urged the Governor to “not sign this legislation into law or veto it.”

Mr. Anderson,
Thank you for following this issue and informing us regarding its status.
The Mead School District, in opposition to this bill, talks about the evil of GROOMING.
GROOMING is a word that rings true with me as I reflect back on my time as a Juvenile Investigations Officer working sex crimes.
Let’s educate children at the appropriate time with the appropriate information, but let’s not groom them for a disastrous life.
I hope our governor does the right thing.

Thank you, Clover Park! It’s nice to see a board of directors with common sense.

Gosh, I would expect this of a school district in Texas or Alabama, where they believe ignorance is bliss.
Learning about sex and the body is so important for young people, I hope anew progam is implemented soon.
Everyone, stay safe and wash your hands!

Jean, that is a very unaware response to the this bill. If you read it and look specifically what they want to teach and how they want to teach it to elementary schools kids it would shock you. Please read the bill and more importantly what they are actually forcing the schools to teach. If you are OK with teaching kids through shocking acts and almost pornographic pictures then yes… I would rather take those old dumb rednecks version where ignorance is bliss and where it is up to the parents to measure and adapt to the natural questions as they come up.
Turn off your media propaganda machine and actually look for yourself of the crap the media is peddling these days. You may find enlightenment. You are getting it from today’s media.
Robert says
are=are not getting from today’s media.

Thanks, Robert for responding with great clarity. Thanks to all concerned parents who took the time to attend meetings and also read the bill. Never stop action, with respect!
