Singers and spectators, join in Christ Lutheran Church’s 26th presentation of the world-famous Handel’s “Messiah” this Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m. in Lakewood. There is no charge to attend the “Messiah Sing-Along” performance and, all are encouraged to bring canned food donations to benefit local food banks.
Each “Messiah” event at Christ Lutheran has featured professional vocal soloists and professional instrumentalists. The conductor chooses the professional musicians. Instruments include Piano/Harpsichord, Violin, Viola, Cello and Trumpet. This year the “Messiah Sing-Along” is conducted by Jeffery N. Lund, MM, from the music faculty of University of Puget Sound.
Originally performed in Dublin, Ireland, in 1742, the extensive, choral masterpiece “Messiah”, by George Frideric Handel, has been a favorite worldwide for nearly three centuries.
