On Dec. 12 Pierce County faith leaders will deliver an inspiring statement to the community by demonstrating united commitment to bring hope to our unhoused neighbors through a joint declaration presented at Associated Ministries’ “Community Quarterly Meeting.”
The public is invited to the signing ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Oasis of Hope Center, 1937 South G St, Tacoma 98405.
In the midst of the County’s homelessness crisis, the community is looking for answers. Faith leaders understand the important and unique role that congregations can play in bringing hope in the midst of this crisis. That’s why dozens of clergy from many traditions are standing together to declare their commitment to care for their neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Since 2017 Associated Ministries has been bringing people of faith and goodwill together to take action on homelessness, holding Community Quarterly Meetings each quarter for the past two years. More than 400 attendees representing some 70 local faith communities have attended during that time.
In addition to the signing ceremony, attendees at the Dec. 12 meeting will participate in an exercise to take stock of progress made in the past year and discuss homelessness solutions that can be implemented in the coming year.
