Detective Bunton, Lakewood Police Department, and possibly Chief Mike Zaro, will update the Tillicum and Woodbrook community this coming Thursday, November 7, 6:30 P.M. concerning the ongoing investigation of the incident this past month on Tillicum’s Washington Ave. in which a “teen died after being shot in the back and his friend is charged in the death,” as read the October 16 headline in the Tacoma News Tribune.
The Tillicum Woodbrook Neighborhood Association meets at the Tillicum Community Center, 14916 Washington Ave. SW.
Bed needed for Tillicum family
Long-time employee of the Tillicum Community Center, Claudia Fischer, together with her husband Sean who is battling cancer, could use community support right now. The specific need is a King or Queen size bed. Donations can be sent to Dianne Formoso, carekids@comcast.net.
Free furniture with donations to benefit Tillicum family
A local Tillicum resident is moving out of state and wants to donate some used but usable (and nice) pieces of furniture, including three tall black filing cabinets, a two-piece maple hutch, a roll-top desk, a very study wooden frame for a couch, and more. The items are free, but the resident encourages donations to be made – at the TWNA President’s request – to benefit Sean and Claudia Fischer. Email CommunityMattersWeb@gmail.com is interested.
