TLT invites you to witness a 'Murder by Merlot'

February 19, 2019 By Lynn Geyer

Tacoma Little Theatre pours a glass of wine at The Social Bar and Grill to begin an evening of mayhem, mystery and murder during a dinner theatre experience of “Murder by Merlot.”

The Frudee Family has been in the wine-making business for years. Their winery, while not overly successful, has managed to stay afloat despite poor reviews by local wine critic, Dr. William Beabore. Now, Doodie and Rudy, the Frudee brothers, and a distant cousin, Judy, have made an amazing discovery they know will make a brig splash in the world of wine. Doodie’s wife, Trudy, will do anything to help her husband, even if it leaves an unpleasant aftertaste; Rudy’s wife, Prudy, doesn’t want to stain her reputation with a secret she’d rather keep to herself.

“Murder by Merlot,” a murder mystery dinner experience is perfect for the wine lover in all of us. The show is directed by Karen Christensen and is enacted by some of TLT’s best talents.

Dinner, which is furnished by The Social Bar and Grill, 1725 Dock Street, downtown Tacoma, includes appetizer, salad, entrée (meat, chicken, vegetarian/gluten free), dessert, coffee, tea, water and soda. Alcohol is available for purchase at the bar or the server. The total price of the theatrical experience is $55 person, which includes dinner with gratuity and show.

Reservoirs are required and may be made by calling the TLT box office at (253)272-2281.

“Murder by Merlot” runs February 21 through 24; Thursday through Saturday performance begin at 7:30 p.m.; the Sunday performance begins at 3 p.m.

Enjoy some wine-tasting and learn a little bit about wine, but be careful, someone will soon be two sheets under!
