February 7, 2019 By The Suburban Times

Submitted by Marianne Bull.

Tames Alan, the most popular speaker for the Washington Commission for the Humanities ‘Inquiring Mind program is coming to Steilacoom on Friday, February 8. At 3:00 in the Steilacoom High School Library, she will present a program entitled “From the Street of Shakespeare to the Court of Elizabeth.”

Alan will present a look into the lives of the working class and the nobility during the Elizabethan era using costumes, theater and in-depth research to present her message.

She is a dancer, an instructor in Elizabethan dialect and culture, a food historian and taught a class at the Art Institute of Seattle that combined fashion history, social history, and women’s studies.  She serves as historical consultant to museums, libraries and festivals in the Pacific Northwest.

Intrigued? Come to the Steilacoom Library Speaker Series this Friday and be royally entertained!

The next in the Series will be on March 8 with a presentation on Critically Endangered Species in the Pacific Northwest. All programs are held at the Steilacoom High School Library.
