Associated Ministries, an interfaith organization in Tacoma, will host “An Evening with Elizabeth Smart”. At the center of one America’s most followed child abduction cases of our time, Elizabeth Smart was returned to her family after nine months of captivity. She went on to testify against her captors, which led to conviction.
Ms. Smart is the Founder of the “Elizabeth Smart Foundation”, and has also helped promote The National AMBER Alert, The Adam Walsh Child Protection & Safety Act and other safety legislation to help prevent abductions. Elizabeth’s abduction and recovery continue to motivate parents, law enforcement and leaders worldwide to focus on children’s safety. She emphasizes vigilance by “everyday” people and the belief that hope always exists to find every missing child.
“A Night with Elizabeth Smart” will take place on Friday, March 8, 2019 at
7 p.m. at the Rialto Theater in Tacoma. It is part of Associated Ministries’ Interfaith Women’s Conference, a full-day experience taking place the following day.
“We are incredibly excited to host Elizabeth Smart right here in Tacoma,” says Sandy Windley, organizer of the event. “Her inspiring story, amazing resilience, and message of hope for survivors, families, and child safety advocates must be heard.”
