Lakewood Rotary receives Larry Saunders Service Award

The Lakewood Community Foundation Fund named the Rotary Club of Lakewood its 2018 Larry Saunders Service Award recipient.

Members of the Rotary Club of Lakewood, the Lakewood City Council and Lakewood Community Foundation Fund in Council Chambers at the naming of Lakewood Rotary as the 2018 Larry Saunders Service Award winner.

The award presentation took place on Tuesday, January 22 at the Lakewood City Council meeting in City Hall.

More than a dozen member of Lakewood Rotary were on hand for the award.

“The members of the Rotary Club of Lakewood are honored to receive this award,” said club president Gayle Selden. “Larry was a member of Lakewood Rotary for a short time, but his energy and impact are still felt.”

The Rotary Club of Lakewood has raised more than $3 million dollars and countless volunteer hours in support of the City of Lakewood over the past 62+ years.

    Congratulations. As a former member of a very active Rotary club I know the work that goes into these kind of activities. Knowing Anne and Steve Enquist I also know the kind of members your club must have.
    BTW, in 1968 I spent about 10 weeks as a neighbor of yours. It was called Basic Combat Training across I 5 at a place called Ft. Lewis. I still break into a sweat thinking of that full pack march up and down and around that “hill”.
