Gentle Hatha Yoga Classes offered at the Fircrest Community Center

January 18, 2019 By The Suburban Times

Submitted by Cynthia Endicott, RYT-200.

Start the New Year off right by improving your health and fitness! Both SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit are accepted at the Roy H. Murphy Community Center in Fircrest. Active older adults who are eligible for Medicare may have health insurance with a fitness benefit.

Even if you have joined a gym, your fitness benefit may pay for community based fitness classes. Check your eligibility, then contact the Fircrest Community Center Office at (253) 564-8177 for class details. The Fircrest Community Center is located at 555 Contra Costa Avenue in the Fircrest Park.

Gentle Hatha Yoga Classes for active, older adults meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00AM to 10:00AM in the Fircrest Gym. Bring your yoga mat and water bottle. Other props will be provided.

Each Friday at 10:30 a Chair Yoga Class is also offered. Although participants do not get down on the floor, students learn and practice seated and standing yoga poses. This is also a one hour group fitness class.

Yoga Students may also pay a Monthly Fee of $30.00 or a Drop In Fee of $ 4.00. The Monthly Fee for Chair Yoga Class is $10.
