The city’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019. We hope you will join us for this family-friendly event that will take a look at the hidden history of African Americans in our country and community over the last 400 years.
Like year’s past, the 2019 event will also celebrate Dr. King and those in our community who exemplify his work.

We will have live performances by Clover Park School District students, a tribute to local Civil Rights advocates JoEthel Smith – founder of the city’s MLK Celebration – and the late Claudia Thomas.
Speaker Charles L. Carson will give the keynote address.
Attendees should note the location change: This year’s event will be at Harrison Preparatory School from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
We hope to see you there!
