More overnight I-5 ramp closures scheduled in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD – Contractor crews widening Interstate 5 and replacing the Berkeley Street overpass in Lakewood have a series of overnight ramp closures scheduled this weekend and next week for pavement repair, guardrail repair and utility work. 

During the overnight hours of Saturday, Jan. 12, southbound I-5 will be reduced to a single lane from Gravelly Lake Drive to Thorne Lane for pavement repair. This work will also require crews to close the Gravelly Lake Drive on-ramp to southbound I-5 and the southbound I-5 exit to Thorne Lane.

  • Single lane closures will begin at 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12
  • Gravelly Lake Drive on-ramp to southbound I-5 and the southbound I-5 exit to Thorne Lane will close at 10 p.m.
  • Southbound I-5 will be reduced to a single lane at 11:30 p.m.
  • All lanes and ramps will reopen at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13.

During the week of Jan. 14, overnight drivers will see shoulder, single-lane and ramp closures on I-5.

Monday, Jan. 14

  • Northbound I-5 exit #120 to 41st Division Drive will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
  • 41st Division Drive on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

  • Northbound I-5 exit #120 to 41st Division Drive will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
  • 41st Division Drive on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Thorne Lane on-ramp to southbound I-5 will close from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

  • Southbound I-5 exit #122 to Berkeley Street will close from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
  • Berkeley Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will close from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Drivers will follow signed detours during all ramp closures.
