Centerforce, a nonprofit in Lakewood that helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive job training and placement, will be hosting an open house and awards ceremony on Thursday, September 29th to recognize individuals and businesses in the community who have been exemplary examples and leaders in the community, championing individuals with disabilities.
Centerforce will be handing out two awards. The Employing Ability Award recognizes employers of our clients who have acted as advocates for individuals with disabilities and have been critical in helping Centerforce reach its goal of reducing and removing employment barriers. The Enriching Community Award recognizes individuals who have shown commitment to acting as a vocal advocate of Centerforce, its mission, and the community by dedicating their support, finances, service, volunteer time, and talent.
The event will also kickoff Centerforce’s “Just Like You” Giving Tuesday fundraiser, an encouragement to donate to your favorite nonprofit following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Centerforce is campaigning to end the stereotype that individuals with disabilities are different, instead showing that they love to watch sports, spend time with family, and be employed, “Just Like You”!
Centerforce’s Annual Awards and Open House will take place Thursday, September 29th at Centerforce, 5204 Solberg Dr SW, Lakewood, from 4:30-6:30pmPrint This Post
