Travel Tacoma + Pierce County prepared for the National Parks Service centennial by hosting five popular out-of-town Instagram users to capture what it’s like to live and play around Pierce County.
During the Instagrammers’ recent five-day visit, they dined, gondola’d and hiked throughout Pierce County. With the National Park Centennial just around the corner on August 25, there was no better time to draw interest to the region.
“The results were spectacular, both in the beauty of the photos and the number of people they reached in our target markets through social media,” said Matt Wakefield, communications manager for Travel Tacoma.
The Instagrammers’ social media posts following the visit included 80+ Instagram photos with 60,000 likes and 13 enthusiastic blog posts.
“We legitimately loved our time there. Not only is there plenty to do for a short vacation, but it would also be an ideal place to raise a family,” Instagrammer Sarah Nelson said in her blog post about the trip.Print This Post
