Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Pierce College finance staff, the college was recently recognized with the Washington State Auditor’s Stewardship Award.
According to the auditor’s office, the award is presented in recognition of Pierce College’s “outstanding accomplishment in the stewardship of public resources as we pursue the shared goal of government that works better, costs less and earns greater public trust.”
Each year, Pierce College undergoes a robust auditing process that not only focuses on financials, but also focuses on how well the college follows other non-financial laws.
The award is not given out every year, and this is the first time Pierce College has received this honor. “I’m very proud of the entire finance department and the hard work that goes into making sure that all our internal financial processes are followed,” Halladay said.
