Early lead gives Bombers victory over LBC Blue, 12-2.
The Lakewood Bombers jumped out to an early lead on LBC Blue and captured a 12-2 victory on Thursday at Ft Steilacoom Park. The win also crowned the Bombers the 2016 Bronco Division Champions.
The game was decided quickly as Bombers exerted its will early with eight runs in the first three innings. An RBI single by Mason Scarlett, a passed ball, and a two-run single by John Flannigan during the first inning and a runner advancing groundout by Matthew Jordan in the second inning fueled The Bombers’ offense early. The Lakewood Bombers’ Mason was perfect at the dish, going 3-3.
LBC Blue had no answer for Ethan Nimmo, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. LBC Blue managed just one hit off of the Bombers’ pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his four innings of work.
Nate couldn’t get it done on the mound for LBC Blue, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in three innings, walked one and struck out one.
The Bombers tacked on another four runs in the fourth. Quinn Bieber singled, scoring Carlos Montoya and Matthew to start the inning. That was followed up by Mason’s single, scoring Quinn.
Immediately following the game, Lakewood Baseball Club Commissioner of Baseball Tony Oury awarded the Bronco Division Trophy to Coach Jeff Scarlett and the Lakewood Bombers.

Who is Lakewood Baseball Club?
Lakewood Baseball Club is a nonprofit organization providing area youth AGES 4-19 the opportunity to play the great game of baseball. Our players come from Lakewood, Tacoma, Puyallup, University Place, Parkland, Steilacoom and surrounding areas.
They are placed into divisions based on age and skill level. While we are not affiliated with City of Lakewood Parks and Recreation or Clover Park Schools, we have formed mutually benefitting relationships and use many of their fields.
The Lakewood Baseball Club strives to instill in our youth the belief in good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty and a sense of teamwork so that they may become strong, healthy, well-adjusted members of the community.
It is our mission as volunteer coaches and parents to provide a healthy atmosphere for our players, regardless of ability or experience, in which they are able to learn the positive aspects of baseball and utilize what they learn, on and off the field.
LBC is affiliated with PONY baseball. The PONY baseball program was created for all players to be able to participate in baseball. We want to Protect Our Nation’s Youth as they grow into young men and women and leaders of tomorrow. PONY is a community based program for everyone in the family to enjoy.
