At the May 25, 2016 meeting of the Steilacoom Historical School District #1 Board of Directors, seven staff members were recognized for their dedication and service to the students, staff and community as they retire from the District.
Retiring from Steilacoom High School is math and science teacher Don Morris who retires after 42 years, art instructor Terry Bader after 28 years, and Wally Mitchell, counselor, for 8 years.
Instrumental instructor Bruce Folmer, taught at both the high school and Pioneer Middle School and retires after 37 years. Also retiring from Pioneer Middle is science teacher Nancy Clayton who is completing a 29 year career.
Debbee Shaffer and Jennipher Hennesey retiree from Chloe Clark Elementary School. Debbee taught for 33 years and Jennipher, 23 years.
Their combined service to the district totals just under 200 years of teaching and counseling, as well as many advising, coaching and community service hours for the District. “Our retirees will be missed.
