Rosalie Monkono of Clover Park High School and Samantha Bradley of Bellarmine Preparatory have each been awarded a $1,000 college scholarship from Comcast’s Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program.
In addition to their academic excellence, each student was chosen for their impact on the community.
- Rosalie has helped a variety of students feel included and appreciated as part of her involvement with Clover Park High School’s Student 2 Student group, which welcomes new students to campus. She aspires to be a physician.
- Samantha served as a conductor during her choral group’s visit with local veterans, bringing much-need Christmas cheer during the holidays. The group delivered uplifting renditions of “Jingle Bells,” “A Holly Jolly Christmas” and more.
The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who strive to achieve their potential, who are catalysts for positive change in their communities, who are involved in their schools, and who serve as models for their fellow students. The philosophy behind the program is to give young people every opportunity to prepare for the future and to engage them in their communities. The program also demonstrates the importance of civic involvement, and the value placed on civic involvement by the business community.
These students were awarded their scholarships in a statewide ceremony last week at the governor’s mansion in Olympia.Print This Post
