At the risk of offending some readers, triggering their sensitivities, and causing them to retreat to their safe-spaces, allow me to wade into controversy by commenting on the May 13th article by Rosalind Brazel, “Chain Gang Protest Against Sen. O’Ban.”
I’ve known Steve for many years, and for anyone to intimate he would advocate a different rate for pay for men than for women with identical jobs is, at best, ignorant, and at worst, libelous. Twisting Senator O’Ban’s voting record into something it’s not is dishonest. No one questions pay should be based on job performance, not gender.
Concerning “reproductive rights;” Senator O’Ban in no way wishes to limit anyone’s right to reproduce. What he does object to, however, is the unrestricted ability for a mother to end the life of that mother’s (as Hillary Clinton recently put it) “unborn Person.”
Good people disagree on social issues, and robust, intelligent debate should be encouraged. Misleading statements and cheap shots, however, are simply unproductive and inflammatory.Print This Post
