In recognition of his consistent performance and demonstrated excellence in teaching, City University recently awarded Pierce College Professor Paul Gerhardt, Ph.D., with the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. When Gerhardt is not in the classroom at Pierce College, he teaches online doctoral courses in City University’s School of Applied Leadership. Each spring, administrative faculty select an excellent faculty member who is deserving of this recognition due to the quality of their courses and success of their students.
Gerhardt believes his experience teaching working professionals at City University gives him an edge in the classroom at Pierce College. “By teaching at City University, I am able to talk to students who are managers and business leaders in their fields,” he said. “This allows me to share these experiences and use new examples in the classroom at Pierce.”
By receiving this award, Gerhardt will receive the title of Distinguished Faculty for the next academic year at City University. He will officially receive the award during the university’s commencement ceremony this spring.
Gerhardt teaches online and in-person classes and serves as the coordinator of the Business Department at Pierce College. He teaches a variety of business classes at Pierce, including principles of management, creative sales, human resource management, professional development and more.
