The Steilacoom Museum Holiday Store opens this weekend, Saturday, November 14th at 10:00. The Holiday Store offers great gift items for early holiday shopping.
Special and distinct Christmas items, gifts relating to our local region, and toys that teach children skills beyond computers are among those that will be available.
Located at 1801 Rainier Street in Steilacoom, the store is open weekends until December 6th. Hours are Saturdays from 10-3 and Sunday’s from 12-4. The Nathaniel Orr Home is closed for the season but you can enjoy the Museum as well as the Store during these hours. The store will also be open the evening of December 4th during the Magical Night at the Wagon Shop, from 5:30 to 8:00. Museum members receive a 10% discount on all purchases.
A featured and popular gift is the 2016 Steilacoom Calendar which this year highlights some of the historic homes in Steilacoom. This is the eighth edition calendar produced by the Steilacoom Historical Museum Association. They are $10 each, or buy 5 calendars and get one free. The calendars are also available at local businesses in Steilacoom: The Bair Bistro, Espresso by the Bay, Coffee Cabin, Steilacoom Pub and Grill and the Steilacoom Marina.
Also, there will be a book signing at the Museum Holiday Store by author and journalist Susanne Bacon, on Sunday, November 15th from 1:00 to 3:00. Delicate Dreams is a small-town romance that weaves in popular South Puget Sound locations (including Steilacoom!), a warm–hearted plot and a loving take on German food. Susanne, an active SHMA member, will be signing soft cover copies of her book as well as answering questions.
