Here is a list of transportation improvement projects scheduled for the week beginning Nov. 9 in the City of Lakewood:
- Madigan Access Project: Crews have removed the sidewalk and barrier from the south side of the Berkeley Street overcrossing of I-5 and installed falsework in preparation for the widening that will take place over the next three weeks. Beginning next week, the crews will shift from night to daytime hours. Work includes chipping away at the existing structure to expose steel and tying to that reinforced steel for the widening. Traffic impacts will be minimal as the work will be performed within a closed work zone with all lanes of traffic open. Additional project information can be found on the Washington State Department of Transportation website.
- Woodbrook Sewer Extension: Sewer construction is ongoing at the intersection of 146th Street and Woodbrook Drive, as well as south of 146th Street along Woodbrook Drive. Detours are in effect and access to the area is limited to “local access only.” Please be aware of relocated bus stops that will be noticed by Pierce Transit and Clover Park School District.
- 100th St Sewer Tap: The developer of the parcel located at 5221 Lakewood Drive will be connecting to the existing sanitary sewer line for service. This work will be performed during the nighttime hours of Monday, Nov. 9 through Thursday, Nov. 12. Due to depth and location of the existing sewer pipe and proximity of the intersection of Lakewood Drive and 100th, this will impact the traffic traveling through the work zone at night.
